Calling all you Hipsters, Funksters & folk who generally like stuff that's unique & a little bit on the curious side of life.  If this description applies to you then you are going to LOVE The Urban Market.

Located in Drygate Brewery which is tucked away at the western edge of Wellpark Brewery in Glasgow, (The Tennants factory to locals!),The Urban Market is to be a regular Sunday event, where there will be occasional workshops & demonstrations from some of the stall holders as well as an amazing selection of delicious food, crafts & housey stuff!.

As a trader, I can honestly say that this is one of the most relaxed & enjoyable events I have done to date.  There was a really cool vibe with blues, soul & funk providing background tunes & there was a great mix of folk visiting including dogs & babies, with a really creative Artisan feel to it that I haven't noticed as much at other events.  The traders I met were all enthusiastic & helpful as were all the staff at Drygate too.  I'll list all the traders who were at the opening event at the end & their wares included the most decadent marshmallows, caramels & chocolates, fantastic fudge, delicious fresh loose leaf teas, amazing cakes, a simply splendid selection of cheeses & hand crafted gin, (I may have bought several bottles of this, oops!), & of course fresh speciality sourdough breads & pastries, phew!!  There was possibly the best selection of vintage clothes I have ever seen at a market of this size along with beautifully restored pieces of furniture, sculpture, (yes you heard me correctly sculpture!!), textiles, home wares, hand made cards & gifts & all manner of recycled & upcycled gorgeous things.

Drygate itself, as a venue, is, of course, an added bonus, selling a superb range of craft beers, both on draught & bottled.  The staff are friendly & well informed & the food here is some of the best pub grub I've had in a long while.  Check out the Grazing Menu!!

So, what else can I say, other than check it out for yourselves.  You wont be disappointed.

Here's the list of traders from the opening event. Most of them have a facebook/& or website for your information.
